5 Common Social Media Design Mistakes to Avoid
Good design builds trust. Bad design drives people away. Here is what NOT to do.
You don't need to be a professional graphic designer to create good content, but you do need to follow some basic rules.
1. Ignoring Visual Hierarchy
If everything is big and bold, nothing is. Decide what the most important element is (the headline, the image, or the CTA) and make that dominant.
2. Poor Contrast
White text on a light yellow background is unreadable. Always check your contrast ratios to ensure accessibility and legibility.
3. Clutter
Don't try to fit your entire blog post onto one Instagram graphic. Use the caption for details. Let the image breathe.
4. Inconsistent Branding
Changing fonts and colors every week confuses your audience. Pick a lane and stay in it.
5. Ignoring Safe Zones
Putting text at the very bottom of a TikTok video where the caption overlay sits, or at the top of an Instagram Story where the profile name is.
Fix It: Our Simulators show you exactly where the UI overlays are, so you never make the "Safe Zone" mistake again.
Avoid these pitfalls, and your content will instantly look more professional.
